Senior Staff Security Engineer - Embedded Devices and Encryption
Position Overview: A leading embedded device client of ours is looking for a Senior Staff Security Engineer. This engineer would be focused on encryption for devices as well as secure embedded software development. The ideal candidate would come from a company working on physical products and securing IoT connected devices.
Responsibilities:

Embedded Systems Security:
- Lead the design and implementation of robust security measures for embedded systems.
- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses on embedded devices to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Encryption Expertise:
- Drive the development and implementation of encryption algorithms and protocols across our products.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in encryption technologies and ensure our solutions remain at the forefront of security.

Security Architecture:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce security architecture standards.
- Provide guidance on secure coding practices and ensure adherence to security policies throughout the development lifecycle.

Incident Response and Forensics:
- Develop and maintain incident response plans specific to embedded systems.
- Conduct forensic analysis to investigate security incidents and implement corrective measures.

Compliance and Certifications:
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications related to embedded device security and encryption.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies to obtain and maintain certifications as required.

Research and Development:
- Stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities in embedded systems and encryption technologies.
- Contribute to research initiatives to enhance the security posture of our products.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (7+ years) in security engineering roles with a focus on embedded systems and encryption.
- In-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, key management, and secure communication protocols.
- Experience with secure coding practices and the ability to review and guide software development teams.
- Strong understanding of hardware security principles and practices.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to embedded security (e.g., Common Criteria, FIPS).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
