Role: Azure Solutions Architect
Location: Plano, Texas (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 6–12 Months (Strong possibility of extension)
Our client is immediately seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Solutions Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of their Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This role focuses on application-driven cloud architecture primarily, rather than infrastructure management and requires strong consultative, strategic, and hands-on technical capabilities.
You will collaborate closely with executive stakeholders, Microsoft, and vendor partners to ensure that the Azure environment is secure, resilient, scalable, cost-optimized, and aligned with business objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience managing Microsoft Azure environments at a senior or leadership level.
Strong expertise in:
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps
- Azure networking, storage, AD, and security
- Disaster Recovery (Commvault preferred)
- SharePoint, Office 365, and Microsoft cloud ecosystem
- Familiarity with cloud deployment models (public and private).
- Demonstrated understanding of Azure cost optimization and performance tuning.
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect) strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, planning, and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple initiatives, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
What you will be doing:
Cloud Architecture & Engineering
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based services within Microsoft Azure and Office 365 environments.
- Complete and optimize Disaster Recovery (DR) configuration with Commvault.
- Drive security configurations per Microsoft recommendations, including decommissioning Alert Logic WAF and transitioning public endpoints to private access.
- Align solutions with the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework.
- Advance DevSecOps maturity and establish robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Lead IaC (Infrastructure as Code) initiatives using Terraform to deploy and manage Azure environments.
- Implement automation scripts and frameworks for Azure resource provisioning and management.
- Manage Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and governance, compliance, and cost management strategies.
- Build and test disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure resiliency and business continuity.
Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a consultative advisor to executive stakeholders and Microsoft partners.
- Lead a team of cloud engineers and administrators, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and present cloud roadmaps to achieve a secure, stable, and optimized Azure environment.
- Review SOWs and vendor deliverables for completeness and accuracy.
- Engage directly with C-level leadership for strategic planning and executive reporting.
Security, Compliance & Monitoring
- Implement security policies, controls, and identity management (IAM, MFA, SSO).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Manage Azure network security, including VPNs, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
- Use Azure Monitor to track performance, health, and cost metrics.
- Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing.
Work Environment
- Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days per week onsite in Plano, TX. Must be available for in-person collaboration, vendor meetings, and executive presentations.

- Azure tenant is secure, resilient, stable, cost-efficient, and compliant with Microsoft Well-Architected Framework standards.
- DR and backup solutions are fully implemented, tested, and documented.
- Cloud operations and DevSecOps practices are standardized and automated.
