A long-established Managed Services Provider (MSP) headquartered in the Chicagoland area is looking for a strong 2nd Shift IT Support Engineer to join their growing team. Founded in the early 2000's, this company delivers cutting-edge business technology solutions spanning Managed IT, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Digital Transformation. 

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who thrives on problem-solving, variety, and real responsibility. Ability to communicate effectively with non technical users is essential to be considered for this position. This is a second shift position is from 3pm -12am, 5 days a week on site in Boilingbrook or Lake Forest.

Required Skills & Experience
· 2–5 years of professional IT Support experience (MSP background strongly preferred)
· Active Directory administration and user management
· Basic network troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, VPN, connectivity, 404 errors)
· Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and configuration pipelines
· Strong written and verbal communication skills (“able to explain tech to your grandmother”)
· Flexibility to work late or weekend shifts

Desired Skills & Experience
· Experience supporting mixed Windows and macOS environments
· Basic familiarity with cloud-based platforms (Azure, M365, basic AWS)
· Understanding of ticketing systems and escalation procedures
· Comfortable with remote troubleshooting tools and documentation practices
· A curious, self-motivated approach to problem-solving

What You Will Be Doing

Tech Breakdown
· 60% Windows & Active Directory Management
· 30% Network Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
· 10% CI/CD and System Configuration Support

Daily Responsibilities
· Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving Level 1-2 support tickets for networks, personal devices and applications
· Managing user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
Monitoring systems and network performance, responding to alerts, and escalating complex issues when necessary
